Q: What is the main objective of this mentoring program?
A: The mentoring program serves a dual purpose. For mentors, it provides a platform to give back by offering guidance and support to younger peers. For mentees, the program is designed to offer valuable leverage in achieving their career and business goals at an accelerated pace.
Q: Is there a selection process for assigning mentors and mentees, or can participants choose their own mentors/mentees?
A: Participants do not have the option to select their own mentors or mentees; the mentoring team will pair them based on predetermined criteria.
Q: What mentoring approach will be utilized in this program?
A: This program will follow a one-to-many mentoring approach, where each mentor is assigned to three to five mentees.
Q: Can individuals who are not NTIC Alumni participate in this program?
A: No, this program is exclusively for NTIC Alumni and students to address their specific needs.
Q: Do participants need to pay an application fee for this program?
A: No, there is no application fee; it is entirely free to participate.
Q: What are the advantages of becoming a mentor in this program?
A: As a mentor, you will receive a certificate of appreciation, and you’ll also experience the rewarding feeling of giving back to your community.
Q: Is it possible to withdraw from the program after it has started?
A: We strongly advise participants to commit to the entire program duration and only join if they can maintain their commitment.
Q: What platform or method will be used for conducting mentoring sessions?
A: The selection of the platform or method for mentoring sessions will be a collaborative decision between mentors and mentees. We offer support for both virtual and in-person meetings. Additionally, for in-person sessions, we can arrange meeting spaces in several locations, including Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Yobe, and Lagos, upon advance notice.
Q: Who will provide guidance and oversight to the mentors?
A: Each group of five mentors will have a designated alumni officer serving as a supervisor to provide them with guidance and support around the clock.
Q: What is the duration of the program?
A: The program will run for a period of three (3) months.
Q: What is the expected time commitment for mentors and mentees in the program?
A: Both mentors and mentees are expected to engage with each other for a minimum of two (2) hours each month.
Q: How much time should mentors and supervisors dedicate to the program?
A: Mentors and supervisors are required to allocate one hour for their monthly meetings.
